| What we do |
United Way First Call for Help attempts to link people
in need of information and/or referral services to health, human service or
government agencies, along with community or support organizations, which
then provide the appropriate assistance. It also acts as a listening ear for
callers who just wish to talk, or work towards resolving problems.
All services are free and completely confidential. |

| United Way First Call For Help maintains a 24-hour,
seven day per week phone service. Office hours are 9:00 AM-5:00 PM,
Monday-Friday. |

| How we serve |
United Way First Call For Help enables people to meet
needs and to solve problems…
• By providing information about community resources.
• By linking people to needed services through
appropriate referrals. • By acting as an advocate for those who “fall through
the cracks”. • By assisting families/individuals to locate resources
to help them in emergency situations. • By maintaining and publishing several informational
directories pertaining to community resources, senior services and volunteering
opportunities. • By being a “listening ear” for client concerns

| United Way First Call For Help is a service of United
Way of Sandusky County, and therefore shares the same address. The office is
located at 103 South Front Street, Fremont, Ohio 43420. |

| Other Services |
| United Way First Call For Help collaborates with other
community organizations for some additional programs: |
• It provides intake for both the Clyde Ministerial and
the Fremont Clergy Emergency Funds, which provide one-time emergency
assistance to the needy.
• It acts as the “clearing house” for Community
Christmas, a community effort, which matches givers to those needing holiday
assistance.
• It also is the contacting agency for both the Volunteer
Committee…addressing the needs of both volunteers and the organizations that
use them and the Kinship Navigator Program…supporting those who care for
relative’s or other’s children. |
